Three women among seven dead in Upper Dir

As many as seven persons including three women were killed and four others injured during a shootout between two rival groups over land dispute at Dobanda area in Upper Dir district, police said on Wednesday. The encounter started when after a dispute over construction of a micro-hydel power station in Dir Upper.
The armed groups led by Muhammad Saeed and Ameer Muhammad took position and started exchange of fire. As result Muhammad Saeed, Umar Muhammad and Gul Muhammad died from Amar Muhammad Group while Bahadar Khan, Mst Noor Bibi, Jehan Bibi and Bibi Noor were killed from the other group.
The incident occurred in a far-flung mountainous area. The supporter of one group also put on fire house of a rival person. However, the police station concerned later registered FIR of the incident and further investigations were in progress.
