Five killed in road accident on Super Highway

At least five persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Super Highway near New Sabzi Mandi when a dumper truck fell on a Suzuki pick-up on Sunday morning. According to a Motorway police official, the accident occurred on service road along the Super Highway.
The official said that the Suzuki pick-up driver negotiated a U-turn on service road, which caused the accident, as the dumper truck's driver made an unsuccessful bid to save the vehicle occupants.
According to Edhi sources, the dead were identified as Nawab Haider son of Mohammed Hussain (39), Pervaiz Ahmed son of Zaibat Khan (36), Rashid (35), Sufian (40) while the fifth deceased and two injured remained unidentified.
The bodies of four persons were shifted to Jinnah Hospital while Rashid and the injured were moved to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital. The victims onboard the ill-fated Suzuki pick-up were all vegetable dealers, an official of the Motorway police added.
