Three killed in gas pipeline explosion

Three people were killed while five others injured in a gas pipeline explosion on Khaiyali road here on Sunday. According to Rescue 1122, the gas pipeline passing near a private hospital on Khaiyali road suddenly burst, causing the collapse of a bank building near the hospital.
As a result, Shahid Saleem (security guard) and Suhail Ahmad (electrician) died on the spot as they trapped in the debris while a youth identified as Zahid, who was present in the parking lot of the hospital, also died on the spot.
Rescue 1122 personnel and Edhi workers rushed to the spot and shifted five injured to the District Headquarters Hospital where the condition of two injured was stated to be critical. The bodies were shifted to the DHQ hospital. SP Sadar Khurrum Shoaib said the blast occurred due to gas pipeline rupture according to preliminary investigation.
