Heat-wave to persist in most parts of country

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has on Tuesday forecast more severe heat wave conditions for the most parts of the country during next 36 hours. As per Met analysis, seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas while continental air will prevail over the most parts of the country during next 24 hours.
Hence, mainly hot and dry weather is likely to continue in most parts of country. However, a few thunder/rain is likely to occur over Bannu division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. The country has been in grip of heat wave for the past few days and Jaccobabad was the hottest place in the country where 52 Celsius degrees was recorded. Maximum temperature recorded in other parts of the country includes Multan 47 Celsius degrees, Faisalabad and Peshawar 45, Lahore 43.2, Islamabad 42, Muzaffarabad 42, Gilgit and Karachi 39, Quetta 38 and Murree 29.
