'Several women empowerment projects in progress'

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said the government is implementing several projects to empower women including Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme, Poverty Alleviation Programme and training women in different programmes.
Talking to a delegation of the Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, he said that 30 percent quota has been reserved for women in Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme. First phase of provision of interest free loans has commenced while large number women have submitted their applications under their allotted quota, which is a satisfactory response.
President Women Chamber, Sajida Zulfiqar was also among delegation members. Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz and Secretary Industry, Shahrukh Arbab were also present. Matters pertaining to economic business activities in the province, promotion of industrial activities and problems being faced by the Women Chamber of Commerce came under discussion. Other members of the delegation included; Chamber General Secretary, Sunela Anwar, Nazo Sangin, Chamber Executive Members, Taslim Zahir Shah, Nasira Lughmani, Nuzhat Rauf, Umi Amara Sadiqui, Shumaila Tabasum and Shahida Perveen.
The chief minister said that the provincial present government is following policy of growth opportunities to women in other sectors including business, industry and technical field as half of the population of the country could not be overlooked in economic activities. The chief minister said that women development sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have enormous potential. There was a need for taking sincere and practical steps.
