Speakers at a seminar have deplored the possible military operation in North-Waziristan on behest of United States and vowed that the JUI-S activists would strongly retaliate against any such move in the area.
The seminar titled "America Murdaabad" (Death of America) was jointly organised under the auspices Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam JUI-S and Ideology Group here on Tuesday at Peshawar Press Club. Maulana Khalil Ahmad, provincial Ameer, JUI-ideological group presided over the event.
The keynote speakers were included Maulana Syed Yousaf Shah, provincial Ameer, JUI-S, Ikramullah Shahid, provincial general secretary JUI-S and former Deputy Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Najeem Khan Advocate, provincial general secretary, JUI-Ideology group.
A large number of JUI-S workers present on the occasion. Maulana Khalil Ahmad, in his speech criticised that the present rulers had adopted Musharraf-led regime policies because of which, country is faced enormous external and internal security challenges. He said the US appeasement policy has made nation slave.
He said that US had persistently violated airspace to target innocent tribal people in excessive drone strikes, saying that government was reluctant to take any action against US secret operatives and CIA contractors in the country. Referring WikiLeaks revelations about the Pakistan, he said that the secret documents had revealed notorious designs of the rulers of the country.
Maulana Khalil stressed the need of forging unity among own ranks to raise against any US sponsored aggression on the country. He called for all religious, political and liberal parties to join hands to foil evil designs of US and Western world.
Maulana Syed Yousaf Shah, provincial Ameer JUI-S while speaking on the occasion, said that US-led alliance forces had invaded in the region and rest of Muslim World to grab precious and immense resources, saying that US will not succeed in its nefarious mission. He called for forging unity and tranquillity among Muslim Umma to get rid from clutches of US and Western barbarism and tyranny.
He said that tribal people had rendered numerous sacrifices for protecting their motherland from any external aggression, but government had targeted through US drones campaign.
"Our mission is to get-rid region from clutches of prolonged US-led alliance forces oppression and to prove Pakistan as independent and sovereign state in the world," he determined. He called for joining hand in Jihad (holy war) for sake of independence, security and defence of the county. Ikramullah Shahid, former Deputy Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkwa Assembly, said that the conspiracy was hatched to defame Ulema and religious seminaries.
He called for implementation of joint resolution passed by both houses of the parliament on key security issues in letter and in spirit. JUI-Ideology group, general secretary, Obaidur Rehman, Najeem Khan Advocate, provincial general secretary, JUI-S Mualana Ghani-ur-Rehman Haqqani, also spoke on the occasion. They condemned the possible US sponsored military operation on North-Waziristan and stressed the need of full resistance against the aggression.
They held rulers responsible for prevailing chaos in the country, saying that its sovereignty and integrity on stake due to following of pro-America policies. The resolution demanded for stoppage of US-financial assistance, saying that the benefit wasn't passed on to deserving people, while it is being spending on rulers extravagant and luxuries. The resolution also demanded that all kind of agreements with Nato should be made public.
