Pre-flood arrangements completed in Punjab

The Punjab Government has completed pre-flood arrangements for monsoon season and pursuant instructions of Flood Judicial Commission Punjab and Supreme Court of Pakistan, encroachment from protective spurs of rivers and water channels are being removed immediately.
Sources told Business Recorder that the government has ensured provision of wireless sets at all the flood warning centres where necessary staff has also been deputed. Arrangements of chlorination with the water supply have been made. On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, repair of embankments and spurs is underway in view of the threat of possible flood, the sources added.
