President inaugurates dental college in Larkana

President Asif Ali Zardari here on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Benazir Institute of Nursing and Community Health Sciences. The total cost of the institute would be to the tune of Rs 950.8 million and it will be completed in two years. Certificate courses and diplomas would be offered in some 15 disciplines at the institute.
The facilities are aimed at provision of under-graduate and post-graduate nursing education of international standard and provide state of the art technical facilities to the people of upper Sindh and adjoining areas of Balochistan and Punjab. These are also aimed at to focus on prevention of various diseases by educating people through the print and electronic media and seminars. These are further aimed at accomplishing the task of health in Sindh and therefore, establishing a healthy Pakistan.
During his visit, president Zardari also performed the inauguration of Assefa Dental College, Larkana. Ms Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari was also present on the occasion. The building has been constructed at a cost of rupees 160.2 million rupees. It is a subsidiary institution of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana. As many as 50 students would be granted admission on the basis of merit at the college, wherein classes will commence from September this year. This would be the first dental college in northern Sindh.
The president also laid the foundation stone of Board of Secondary and Intermediate Education, Larkana. Chairman of the Board, Professor Daud Memon, briefed the president regarding the project. He said that the project would consist of office buildings, bank counters, and internal and external development work departments.
