Benazir Bhutto remembered with huge blood donations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata

PPP workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) donated blood to pay homage and remember the sacrifices of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for the restoration of democracy in the country on her 58th birth anniversary on Tuesday.
The PPP doctors' wing, lawyers' forum, labour wing, peoples' students federation, farmers and women wing on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari arranged blood donation camps in all 25 districts of KP and Fata. People in large numbers turned up and donated bloods.
KP Finance Minister Engr Hamayun Khan, former Peshawar District Nazim Azam Khan Afridi visited Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and donated blood to pay homage to late Benazir Bhutto. Earlier, Hamayun inaugurated the blood camp established by PPP's KP chapter at LRH.
Under the aegis of Peoples' Students Federation (PSF), a blood donation camp was set up at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) where students of Peshawar University, Agriculture University, Khyber Medical University, Jinnah College and Engineering University donated blood. KP Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah also visited KTH and appreciated the students for arranging blood donation camps.
PSF's Provincial Secretary for Information Fahim Khattak and President PPP Peshawar University Shahzad Khan, General Secretary Wasim Khattak and General Secretary PPP Peshawar District Hajar Wali also donated blood. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Zahir Shah said that BB was a symbol of courage and determination and had always fought for the rights of the oppressed section of the society.
He said that blood donation on the occasion of BB's birth anniversary was a tribute to the daughter of the east for her matchless sacrifices for democracy. He said that mission of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed would be completed. Engr Hamayun Khan said: "Today reminds us the supreme sacrifices of our slain leader who wrote history by shedding her blood at Liaqat Bagh."
He said that to pay tribute to Shaheed BB, it was high time to forge unity and strengthen government hands as the present PPP regime was carrying forward her mission. Walks, declamation contests and talks shows were also held in connection with the day.
Addressing a function in connection with BB's birth anniversary in Mardan, Rahimdad Khan, former PPP President of KP and senior minister said that Mohtarama always thought about the welfare of the people and was an identity of the country for being an international leader and symbol of federation.
He said that Benazir Bhutto had always advocated for socio-economic uplift of downtrodden and oppressed people. In Malakand, MPA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha organised a blood donation camp at Tehsil Headquarter Dargai. MPA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, former Nazims Fazal Azeem, Abdul Rashid Bhutto, Muhammad Yunis Khan also donated blood. Blood donation camps were also established in all agency headquarters hospitals of Fata and tribesmen and workers of PPP in large number donated blood.
