Dwellers of Islamabad are facing enormous problems due to security checkpoints and barriers erected by Capital Police, but these are imperative to ensure tight security and secure people, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Bani Amin Khan here on Thursday.
With active support from people particularly the business community police could reduce crimes and provide more protection to the society, the IGP said while talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), which met him at his office. The delegation led by acting President Adil Anis includes Munawar Mughal, Tauseef Zaman, Khalid Mehmood Chaudhary, Saif-ur-Rehman Khan, Muhammad Naeem, Adil Shah and Jamal Khattak.
Capital Police, due to increasing vigilance, have succeeded in arresting a large number of people, involved in the terrorist activities. The IGP requested for greater co-operation from the business community to make the security system more efficient. Adil Anis, acting President ICCI said that police has introduced the beat system, which would help in reducing crime rate. He was of the view that every police official should take initiative for participation in community policing, which would enable a common man to get better access to police department.
