Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has constituted a larger bench of the Supreme Court to resume from June 27 hearing of a Presidential reference sent to it for revisiting a murder case of country's first democratically elected Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
An eleven-member larger bench comprising the Chief Justice, Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Muhammad Sair Ali, Justice Mahmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui, Justice Jawad S Khawaja, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani and Justice Ghulam Rabbani will deal with one of the judicial decision frequently termed by a large section of political stalwarts, jurists and civil society members as 'judicial murder" of one of the most popular leader of the country. The country's top Court is set to give its opinion on a presidential reference for revisiting the death sentence passed against ZAB in 1979.
