Raw sugar futures reversed course and headed lower on profit-taking after hitting a 3-1/2-month high for a second straight day early on Wednesday, and arabica coffee erased gains from the previous session's rally. Cocoa futures moved higher along with other commodities as the market awaited selling from the world's second biggest grower, Ghana.
ICE October raw sugar futures were down 0.29 cent, or 1.1 percent, at 26.72 cents a lb at 12:44 pm EDT (1644 GMT), having earlier touched a 3-1/2-month high basis second-month of 27.30 cents. ICE September arabica coffee futures last traded down 1.55 cents to $2.5890 per lb. ICE September cocoa jumped $96, or 3.2 percent, to close at $3,119 per tonne.
