LA-41 Kashmir Valley-6: EC criticised for polls postponement

PPP provincial president, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, has criticised the Election Commission for postponement of elections in Legislative Assembly LA-41 Kashmir Valley-6, and termed that it was a conspiracy to deprive Kashmiri people from their democratic and constitutional right.
Speaking at a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Wednesday, he said that the Election Commission had issued postponement notification in the constituency a day before the elections. He said that the decision was totally unconstitutional and unfair.
Flanked by Khan Abdul Majid Khan, a PPP candidate from LA-41 Kashmir Valley-6 and Khyber Pakhtunkwa, Minister for Revenue, Syed Qalbe Hassan, he condemned the postponement procedure of election commission. He said if in case any speculations of security in the Valley, then there was needed to early announcement of postponement on constituency instead of cancelling a day before the elections. He termed that the postponement of elections on the constituency was a conspiracy, saying that whenever Pakistan People's party had become into power, conspirators hatched conspiracy against it. Despite the negative propaganda and rigging elections, he claimed that the PPP won majority of seats in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) elections.
About rigging allegations of PML-N, he said that the AJK elections held in fair and transparent manner without any kind of meddling of PPP government in it. He accused that PML-N won four seats in Punjab by support of police, DCO and commissioners. He said that on the one hand PML-N had rigged the election, while it has decided to challenge it, which was totally illogical and out of the way.
He said that PPP has not required seats from other parties to make coalition government, saying that it has attained major seats to make central government in the AJK. He expressed the hope that the PPP will get victory on the constituency LA-41 Kashmir Valley-6, when fresh schedule will be announced by the Election Commission. Khan Abdul Majid Khan, a PPP candidate from LA-41 Kashmir valley-6, said that the election commission had postponed election on the constituency on June-25 on the pretext of poor law and order situation in the valley. He said that the decision was tantamount to deprive Kashmiri people from the constitutional and democratic right.
He informed that they had objected against exclusion of fake electoral lists, after which election commission was cancelled them. He said the Kashmir is a disputed territory for which PPP always struggle to give Kashmiri people to right to self-determination. He expressed that hope that the judiciary will decide fair judgement about holding of elections on the said constituency.
