Highly motivated with a 3-0 home victory over Pakistan, the Bangladesh national football team reached here on Friday to play their IInd World Cup pre-qualifying match against host Pakistan here on July 3. The officials of Pakistan Football Federation received the players of Bangladesh team who left the airport amid stringent security measures.
Pakistan soccer team will have to defeat Bangladesh at least by a margin of four goals to play against Lebanon in the second preliminary round. The skipper of Bangladesh soccer team Biplob Bhattachariya said they consider Pakistan their second home and are motivated to show good performance in the match scheduled for July 3.
It may be noted that FIFA had turned down a proposal from Bangladesh to relocate their World Cup 2014 qualifier from Pakistan to Dhaka. Bangladesh faced Pakistan in the first leg of their Asian zone first round qualifier on June 29 defeating Pakistan 3-0. Nikola Ilievski, the Bangladesh coach said: "I think I would probably be making some changes in my strategy but there would be two changes in the line up. We need a winning spirit amongst the boys just like they demonstrated on their home ground."
