The Kattar Bund Road Industries Association has demanded of the Chief Minister of Punjab to take the industrialists of the area onboard on under construction water disposal project. The office bearers of the association; President, Mehmood Ghaznvi and Senior Vice President, Mian Mohammad Nawaz in their joint statement on Tuesday said the industrialists appreciate the Punjab Chief Minister for giving importance to infrastructure development in the province.
They also requested chief minister of Punjab to direct the concerned officers to take stakeholders into confidence. It is also a fact that the water disposal project initiated by the Punjab government is much-needed step but it must be in consultation with area industrialists as there exist a lot of confusion and unrest among the industrial units working in the industrial estate, they said.
They said that industrialists wanted that the Kattar Bund Industrial area should be linked to water disposal project. All roads in the area should be reconstructed as soon as the project is over. There should be enough greenery around this project. The office bearers said that there were 150 multinational and local industrial units in Kattar Bund Industrial area and were generating around Rs 800 million, but it was very unfortunate that they had no say in government project and policies. The government should declare Kattar Bund Industrial area as Industrial Estate as its location was ideal, they added.
