Indonesian strike disrupts work at US mining giant

Production at a major mine run by US firm Freeport McMoRan in Indonesia's Papua region was disrupted Wednesday as a strike by thousands of workers demanding better wages entered a third day. More than 8,000 workers have been protesting outside the company's headquarters and a 300-strong group on Wednesday blocked the main route to the huge gold and copper mine north of the coastal city of Timika.
