Robbery, abduction charges: Babar Awan acquitted

Former Federal Minister for Law Dr Babar Awan was acquitted on Friday of robbery and abduction charges due to insufficient. Civil Judge Rai Mohammad Khan gave a verdict observing that the respondent failed to produce sufficient material against Babar Awan.
The applicant Sheikh Iftikhar Adil had registered a case with New Town police in 1998 that Babar Awan who was riding with his associates in vehicle No 786 intercepted him when he was passing through double road. The accused snatched bag from him and threatened dire consequences if he does not withdraw the case.
