National Assembly committee recommends expansion of postal network

National Assembly's Standing Committee on Postal Services on Saturday recommended the expansion of postal network and financial incentives for lower scale employees to enable them to work more efficiently. MNA, Pir Muhammad Aslam Bodla chaired the meeting of the committee. Appreciating the working of the Ministry of Postal Services, the committee recommended recruitment of new staff to meet present challenges.
The committee showed its displeasure over the delay in distribution of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) money orders, however acknowledged its role in execution of the programme. The committee directed the ministry to ensure transparency in distribution of the BISP money orders by strengthening its monitoring system.
The report of the sub committee to examine irregularities made by the ministry in DPC meeting held on October 14, 2009 and reinstatement case of Sarfraz s/o Ghulam Ali RMS L-Division Lahore was discussed in the meeting and unanimously reinstated them. "The committee examined the irregularities made by the ministry in the DPC meeting held on October 14, 2009 and reinstatement case of Sarfraz s/o Ghulam Ali RMS L-Division Lahore."
