Flood situation: government officials not turn up to brief Khosa

Punjab Governor Latif Khosa addressing a press conference here on Saturday said that senior officials of the Punjab government have refused to brief him about floods situation. He said he had summoned Secretary Irrigation, Secretary Communication, Secretary Education, Home Secretary, Additional Secretary Punjab, DG Punjab Disaster Management Authority for briefing in the Governor House, but they did not turn up.
He said these officers were of the point of view that for this meeting they needed permission from the provincial government. Governor said he would write a letter to the President in this connection. Punjab Governor citing another event said that regarding Mianwali incident he had earlier asked IG Punjab too for a briefing, but he also did not come. The Governor said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was issuing instructions to bureaucracy while remaining in London.
Punjab Governor pointed out that no action had been taken against anybody regarding floods in the light of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Recorder Report. He requested the highest Court to initiate contempt proceedings against Punjab Government for not complying with its orders. He said Punjab government was constitutionally responsible to brief him about provincial administrative matters.
