Jamaat-i-Islami won't join grand alliance

Jamaat-i-Islami General Secretary, Liaqat Baloch has said that his party will not be part of a so-called grand alliance proposed by Nawaz Sharif. Addressing a press conference here, Baloch regretted that Nawaz had made a hasty decision to include MQM in the alliance which was deplorable.
He said the JI believed in a peaceful struggle to resolve national issues. He called upon all political parties to unite on a one-point agenda to steer the country out of the prevalent state of affairs. He said the country was passing through a critical juncture and even its integrity was at stake. Replying to a question, he said the alliance of Nawaz Sharif with the MQM would further strengthen the present regime. In the past, several alliances were formed but most of them failed due to a lust for power by certain political leaders, he added.
