I will try my level best to bring back peace, promises Wassan

The newly inducted Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said he is determined to make Karachi citadel of peace. "I don't have any Alladin ka Chiragh, which can be used to bring peace overnight in Karachi but I will do my best and work with all political parties to bring back peace to the city," he said addressing a press conference on Saturday along with IGP Sindh Wajid Durrani and CCPO Karachi Saud Mirza at Police head office.
Wassan said that around 157 target killers have been arrested since January 2011, from different parts of the city. The government would work with all political parties in Karachi including Jamaat-i-Islami to bring peace in Karachi, he added. He said that they could not ignore land & drug mafias and extortionists in target killings. Wassan said that he would visit affected areas and also would appeal to all political parties including Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) to work together for restoration of peace.
Earlier, during the meeting, Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police, Wajid Durrani briefed Wassan about the current law and order situation of Karachi. Durrani briefed the home minister regarding the target killings. He also informed the minister about the recent postings of police officers in Karachi.
