The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) has revised load management/load shedding schedule in the Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa. As per new reduced Quota of 800MW PESCO is carrying out 7 to 8 hours load shedding in urban areas and 8 to 9 hours load shedding in rural areas on all 11KV feeder, said in a press statement issued here on Monday.
The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) called upon the consumers for minimising use of electricity to more reduction in load shedding and over loading of the system. The company expressed the hope that the growing electricity load shedding will be reduced with the co-operation of the consumers. The statement further said that the PESCO is taking all possible steps to overcome with electricity shortage.
However, it can be possible to reduce electricity usage during peak hours, ie, from 6.00pm to 11.00pm. The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) also extended request to industrial consumers for maximum co-operation to conserve at least 25 percent energy and all commercial consumers to close all the shopping plazas and shops at 8.00pm sharp and switch off all the street lights alternatively, especially the Bill Boards must be switched off.
The company also asked the domestic consumers should use energy savers and tube lights instead of overloading substance of electricity. Similarly, the company requested to minimise the use of AC; while using AC its thermostat must be kept at 26 degree. The statement said that the tube well operators should operate tube wells in accordance with load shedding schedule. Due to severe over loading RCC Islamabad carried out 192MW Forced Load Shedding in different parts of Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa.
