The Board of Directors of International Industries Limited (IIL) would like to announce the appointment of Riyaz Chinoy as the new Chief Executive Officer. Riyaz Chinoy will take up his new responsibilities in August 2011 when the current MD Towfiq Chinoy will retire. This appointment was made as per the recommendation of the Nomination Committee of the Board of Directors.
Riyaz Chinoy holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland USA. He started his career in Pakistan Cables Limited as a Project Engineer and went on to become the Commercial Projects Manager. Chinoy joined International Industries Limited in 1992 and has served in various Managerial and Executive capacities on the manufacturing, sales and internal audit fronts. He was elected as a Director of IIL in 2007 and has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer since 2009.
Riyaz Chinoy has more than 25 years of experience in the relevant field and is a certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor as well as a certified Director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. Towfiq Chinoy, who has served as Managing Director of IIL for 35 years shall remain Managing Director of International Steels Limited (a subsidiary of IIL) and will be an Advisor to IIL.-PR
