The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain called off the general workers' meeting announced to be held on Monday in view of the precarious law and order situation in the country particularly in Karachi. Talking to MQM co-ordination Committee at MQM headquarters, Nine Zero, Altaf Hussain expressed his concern over the prevailing law-and-order situation in Karachi.
He asked the Co-ordination Committee members to wait for the outcome of the appeal made to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and other authorities at the helm of affairs. He asked the Co-ordination committee to put off the general workers' meeting in view of the failing law-and-order situation in city and its other parts. He advised the committee and the members of parliament belonging to the MQM to carry forward their peaceful struggle in a constitutional manner and according to the law.
