Telenor Pakistan and Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited launched a branding campaign for one of their products under the branchless banking solution Easypaisa. Through Easypaisa Mobile Account, customers can send and receive money and pay their utility bills right from their mobile phone, anywhere, anytime.
Easypaisa Mobile Accounts, which are like normal bank accounts, can be opened at any Telenor Sales & Service Centre, Telenor Franchise or Tameer Bank branch. The service is available for existing and new Telenor Pakistan customers. Roar Bjaerum, Vice President Financial Services Telenor Pakistan said, "The provision of mobile financial services to the unbanked is associated with attainment of key economic and social goals. Easypaisa, a joint service of a telecommunication company and a micro-finance bank, is well positioned to offer mobile financial services to those who are not availing any banking services. Easypaisa Mobile Account is a step in that direction and will offer people convenience, reliability, and empowerment."
Nadeem Hussain, President & CEO Tameer Microfinance Bank said: "Tameer Bank is committed to improving the lives of the people of Pakistan through various financial initiatives. We believe that Easypaisa Mobile Account can become an important financial services tool by enabling the unbanked to send and receive funds easily, quickly and safely thereby obtaining access to credit, which can help to create new business activity and more jobs. Women's access to funds can also be improved, with positive effects on child education and health. The resultant activity can lead to a rise in Pakistan's GDP and enhanced socio-economic indicators."-PR
