Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) and Youth of Parachinar on Wednesday held a protest demonstration against siege of Parachinar, continuation of anti-people government policies and rising influence of United States across the country. The peaceful demonstration emerged from G-6/4 Imambargah and after marching on Ibne-e-Sena road and Fazle Haq Road it culminated at Parliament House. The demonstrators were chanting slogans against America, Taliban and Federal Government.
They were also holding placards inscribed with slogans urging the government to immediately launch C-130 and helicopter service to the restive Parachinar to facilitate the passengers who have been trapped for the last four years. Addressing the participants of the demonstration, Amin Shaheedi said that siege of people of the Parachinar is a stigma on the face of the present government, which has failed in controlling the Taliban, who are main reason for blockade of Parachina.
He said that the sit-in was organised outside National Press Club, which entered on 69th day, but no heed was paid by the government towards the shrieks and screams of the people living in siege and their dear ones living in other parts of the country. He said that a relief convoy carrying medicines, food items and water would be departed to Parachinar and it is responsibility of the government to ensure the security of the people, goods, and medicines being sent for over 700,000 besieged residents of Kurram Agency.
