Dr Altaf joins DIHE

Professor Dr S Altaf Hussain (Pride of Performance), has joined Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education (DIHE) in the capacity of Rector with effect from 27 June, 2011. The DIHE has been chartered by the government of Sindh and has been placed in the highest category 'W' (A) by the Higher Education Commission.
Devoted to discovering, disseminating and applying knowledge for the advancement of the Pakistani Society in perspective of global changes, DIHE identifies and attracts undergraduate and graduate students of higher potential, especially those who have been historically under-represented because of limited financial resources. Through commitment to excellence in teaching and education services, DIHE prepares students for lifelong learning and for constructive participation in the community.
Dr Altaf has a very rich academic record. He did his 1) Post Doc. from Louisiana, State University, USA, 2) PhD Organic Chemistry from Chelsea College (University of London), UK and 3) M.S.c, Organic Chemistry, First Class securing First Position in the Faculty of Science, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan securing a Gold Medal. He was conferred the prestigious Civil Award, "Pride of Performance" by the President of Pakistan in 2001.
Dr Altaf is an eminent scholar of national and international repute and is an educationist of distinction. He had been a Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University and a Member Higher Education Commission. In the capacity of Rector, he will be the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer of the Institute. Among other assignments, he will be responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Board of Governors and for the execution of the programmes of the Institute in accordance with the guidelines and policies formulated by the BoG. With the induction of Dr S Altaf Hussain as Rector, DIHE has increased yet another feather in its cap.-PR
