Shab-e-Barat: CCPO orders strict action against makers of fireworks

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir has, on the sacred occasion of 'Shab-e-Barat' ordered launching vigorous campaign against those who manufacture fireworks or indulge in its sale and purchase. CCPO has also directed taking strict action against elements indulging in aerial firing, for which special teams have been formulated.
In his order, Ahmad Raza Tahir directed DIG Operations, Divisional SPs, Supervisory Police officers and SHOs to take prompt action against stockiest and sellers of fireworks by raiding their godowns and forfeiting their illegal goods. CCPO had also ordered taking strict action against use of fireworks on the occasion of marriages and other functions.
He directed officers to keep a vigilant eye on aerial firing on the occasion of marriages, particularly outside marriage halls. Ahmad Raza Tahir warned that, in case any incident of fireworks or aerial firing took place, the concerned SHO of their area would face departmental action, while SPOs would be held accountable, whereas all concerned SPs would be responsible for ensuring comprehensive implementation of these orders.
