The Kashmir Martyrs Day was observed throughout Sialkot and Narowal districts by the refugees from the occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in both the districts on Wednesday. The daylong programmes started with special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country as well as for the early liberation of occupied valley.
Qura'an Khawani for the martyrs and special meetings were held for commemorating the Kashmiri Martyrs of 1931 who were shot dead by the Dogra rulers outside Srinagar jail. Addressing the meetings, refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in Sialkot and Narowal districts, have urged upon all peace loving nations and United Nations that they should take immediate step for stopping the excessive barbarism and killing of innocent Kashmiris in held valley.
The Kashmiris on this occasion strongly criticised the double standard of big powers, champions of human rights and the role United Nations for not resolving the more than 62 years old Kashmir laying pending on its agenda. They alleged that United Nations is only watching the agenda of big powers as well as remained silent over the violation of its own charter of human rights in held Kashmir. The killing youth and abduction of women become daily routine in held state, but it remained unnoticed by United Nations and champions of human rights they asserted.
They said that Pakistan government had adopted flexible attitude for fruitful and durable outcome of their differences through dialogues. On the other hand, Indian government was stick to its old practice for resolving more than half-century-old Kashmir disputes according to aspirations of Kashmiris and in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
While addressing a meeting the District President All Jammu and Kashmiris Muslim Conference Hafiz Muhammad Raza said that Kashmiris have initiated the movement in held Kashmir, with the aim of liberating their motherland from the Indian yoke and the liberation movement had now reached at its peak and it could not be crushed by dint of any force and barbarism.
Another prominent Kashmiri leader of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Ejaz Ahmad Sheikh also urged upon the Indian Prime Minister to announce the stoppage of growing homicide of innocent Kashmiris in held state. Speaking on the occasion Senior leader of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Sheik Muhammad Saleem also condemned the brutal activities of Indian forces and urged upon the peace loving nations that they should come forward and play their instrumental role in stopping the genocide of innocent Kashmiris in held valley.
