The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday disposed of a petition against non-provision of jobs to the family members of policemen died in GPO Chowk bomb blast in 2008 as SSP (admin) informed petitioner was not eligible under the policy. He said under the policy jobs are given only to the blood relatives of martyred policemen and the petitioner is not blood relative any martyr of GPO bomb blast.
The court expressed dissatisfaction over injustice policy and observed that anomalies should be removed from the policy and it should be corrected to accommodate other relatives of martyred policemen in case here are no blood relatives. The petitioner Muhammad Akram Butt said that Punjab IGP had announced to give jobs to family members of those police officials who lost their lives in suicide blast at GPO Chowk in January 2008.
