'Government fails yet again to establish its writ'

20 Jul, 2011

Karachi Electric Supply Company has condemned the anti Karachi actions of the defunct union as they once again blocked movement of critical repair material from KESC's central store. KESC central is the main supply source of repair and maintenance material that is blocked by union miscreants for many weeks.
This has caused severe shortage of repair material and has enhanced miseries of people of Karachi. It was KESC's fifth failed attempt to get repair material released as law enforcement personnel played the spectators' role as usual.
This reflects Govt's inability to enforce its writ and implement Sindh High Court's orders.
KESC has once again demanded government action against a handful of union miscreants holding the Central Stores of the utility under illegal and subversive siege. KESC believes that the government's indifferent policy towards the suffering of power consumers of Karachi because of shortage of transformers, cables and other equipment to replace faulty material from distribution network was a cause of encouragement to the defunct union to exercise highhandedness against the power utility as well as the citizens of Karachi.
KESC understands that in case of further delay in vacating the Central Stores could cause unmanageable issues all across the Metropolis as in the absence of repair and replacement material, it would become next to impossible to restore power supply in those areas where fast increasing number of pending local faults had been causing prolonged outages.-PR
