The Supreme Court (SC) was informed that Masood Janjua, the spouse of Amna Masood Janjua, chairperson Defence of Human Rights, was not found in the custody of secret agencies of the country.
Additional Attorney General K. K. Agha informed a bench of the apex court which was hearing a separate application filed by Amna Masood Janjua in missing person case, that every place pointed out by Amna was searched out in pursuance of the court orders but Amna's husband was not found, adding that there was no veracity in her claim.
Amna, wife of Masood Janjua, had contended during the regular hearing of the missing person case on June 29 that her spouse was alive after which the SC summoned the Interior and Defence secretaries to appear before Justice Javed Iqbal in his chamber to inform about the whereabouts of Masood Janjua. A two-member bench comprising Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany was heard the case.
