Saleem Shehzad killing: commission seeks emails' record of slain journalist

The judicial commission, probing the mysterious killing of senior journalist Saleem Shahzad, has written a letter to a foreign corporate unit through Foreign Ministry for provision of complete record of Saleem Shehzad's emails.
The commission met here on Tuesday with Justice Saqib Nisar in the chair. Members of the commission including Justice Agha Rafiq, Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court, Inspector General Police, Islamabad Bin Amin, IGP Punjab Javed Iqbal and President, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, Pervaiz Shaukat also attended the meeting.
Talking to media, Pervaiz Shaukat said that the commission also examined the CCTV footages' record, submitted by National Highway Authority (NHA). He added that senior journalist Hamid Mir recorded his statement before the commission regarding the brutal killing of Saleem Shahzad, besides presenting a CD. Zafar Sheikh, a close friend of the deceased also recorded his statement before the commission.
The commission was again informed that Saleem Shahzad's laptop and mobile phone had not been recovered yet.
The commission summoned two other persons namely Shafiq and Raja Nisar who recovered the dead body of the journalist from a canal passing through Mandi Bahuddin.
Pervaiz Shaukat maintained that Islamabad and Punjab Police were asked to carry on investigation of the case, adding that commission meeting would also meet on Wednesday (today) and four journalists including Nasim Zahra, Najam Sathi, Mehr Bukhari and Tahir Ali would record their statements.
Earlier on Monday the Commission had recorded statements of brother-in-law of slain journalist, while Mandi Bahuddin Police handed over the articles recovered from Shahzad vehicle to the probe commission in its fourth meeting.
