'National institutions at brink of destruction'

20 Jul, 2011

Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab President, Ahsan Rasheed and Secretary, Dr Shahid Siddique Khan have said that democratic institutions and national institutions of public service have been brought to the brink of destruction by the incompetent government.
They expressed these views while addressing a party meeting, here on Thursday, in a reaction to Federal Railways Minister, Ghulam Ahmad Bilor who surprised the nation by saying that the Pakistan Railways is left with only two days' fuel, disclosed a PTI spokesperson.
The PTI office bearers said the present government has crossed the limits of corruption in national institutions. They also said many countries in the world are trying to advance their railway system because it is cost effective and profiting institution, but instead of modernising the railway system, government is rather busy in destroying its existing structure.
According to them, Pakistan Railways is the backbone of the country's transportation system but the minister has destroyed this key institution through corruption at all levels. Rulers are busy in saving their government at all costs and selling national institutions to fund the national budget, which is a pity on the part of the so-called democratic government.
They said no country can make progress without effective means of communication and transportation, and the PTI after assuming power will re-establish national institution on solid basis because its first priority is to make Pakistan a welfare state.
