Additional powers for Rangers: another three months' extension granted

Keeping in view the current law and order situation, the Sindh government on Wednesday announced another three months extension in the additional powers for Rangers. A notification to this effect has been issued by the Home Department.
The additional powers, which were granted under Article 5 of the Anti-Terrorism Act to bring law and order under control, have empowered Rangers to conduct raids, search operations, detain and interrogate suspects before handing them over to the police. Meanwhile, a spokesman of Sindh Rangers confirmed that Sindh government has extended their additional authority for another three months.
