Delay in announcement of Matric results: chief minister Punjab takes notice, orders inquiry

Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the delay in the announcement of the results of matriculation examination and ordered inquiry against authorities concerned of Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
He was presiding over a meeting with Punjab Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Secretary Higher Education, Haseeb Athar and Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore, here on Friday, disclosed an official. The chief minister issued instructions for immediately fixing the new date and directed that all the eight boards of examinations of the province should declare the matric results on the new specified date. He said declaration of examination results on the fixed date is of vital importance, as any delay in this regard would cause anxiety among the students and parents.
He directed that the date for announcement of complete and error-free matric results should immediately be fixed. "Computerisation of examination system is a revolutionary step of the Punjab government, which has helped in purging this system of the activities of corrupt mafia," he added.
