45,550 tons of urea shipment arrives at Gwadar

A fresh consignment of over 45,000 tons of urea has reached Gwadar port, it is learnt.
Under urea import operation by Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) a ship mv Pu Tou Hai, carrying 45,550 tons of urea arrived and berthed at Gwadar Port on Sunday. The discharge of the cargo has also commenced. With the arrival of this consignment, 72,000 tons of imported urea has arrived.
Two more vessels, mv Apostolos-II, carrying 25,000 tons, and mv Hai Yu, carrying 26,200 tons urea are scheduled to arrive at Gwadar Port and Port Qasim on 26th and 28th July, 2011, respectively.
The shipments on mv Pu Tou Hai and mv Hai Yu are in response to TCP tenders awarded to Transammonia AG, Switzer and Multicommerce LLC, USA. A third vessel mv Apostolos-II is carrying the balance quantity of imported urea committed by SABIC to be supplied during July, 2011 under the Saudi Fund for Development credit facility.
In a nutshell, 125,000 tons urea would arrive against total import of urea lined-up by TCP to meet Kharif requirement. The transportation of urea from the ports and subsequent marketing will be handled by National Fertiliser Marketing Limited (NFML).
