Managing Director SNGPL, Arif Hameed has assured the FPCCI delegation of resolving gas supply issues of industry for smooth economic activity in the country. He was talking to the FPCCI delegation led by Mian Muhammad Tariq Shafi, Regional Chairman FPCCI in a meeting at SNGPL head office. He said SNGPL is in favour of boosting economic activities but acute gas shortage is hampering the approach. He said a strategy is being formulised to overcome the issue.
Speaking on the occasion, Tariq Shafi said that the energy crisis has crippled production capacity resulting into increase unemployment and inflation. He said the businessmen are thinking seriously of shifting businesses to other countries. He said Pakistan has very rich reservoirs of mines and minerals but still it was passing through the worst electricity crisis.
He cautioned of severe implications with perpetual energy crisis in the country. He said the business community is ready to co-operate by all counts and stressed the MD SNGPL to take the business community in confidence before finalising load-shedding schedules.
