Punjab Food Department will provide 13,500 tons of wheat to the flour mills of the province on subsidised rates on daily basis during the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. This is 25 percent more wheat as compared to wheat issued to the flourmills previous year said Founders Group (of flour millers) Chairman, Dr Bilal Aslam Sufi, Co-chairman, Khalique Arshad, Mujahid Khurshid, Majid Abdullah and Haji Maqsud Ahmad in a joint statement issued here Monday.
They stated that the provincial food department has also been asked by the government to issue fresh wheat of 2010-11 season to the flour-mills and also ensure its weight. Dr Bilal Aslam Sufi and Khalique Arshad vowed to make the Ramazan Package a success as announced by Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Earlier, talking to a group of flour millers, Dr Bilal Sufi said that their group would foil the efforts of their political opponent, at present in possession of Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA), through the power of ballot.
