Minister wants upgradation of CTTI

Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan has stressed the need of up gradation of Construction Technology Training Institute (CTTI) and asked the concerned officials to prepare a formal proposal in this regard. Addressing a meeting held here on Monday, he said that technical education is the best way to generate employment opportunities in the country.
He informed the meeting that the construction work on flyover near Takht-e-Bhai N-45, will start shortly to overcome with traffic problems. Federal Secretary Communications Anwar Ahmad Khan, Senior Joint Secretary Abdulbasit, Joint Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana, Chief Executive CTTI Colonel Waqar Ahmad Noor(Retd), Railways officials, Member Added Projects NHA Altamish Khan, Member Planning Sabir Hussain and others also participated. In the first session, the Federal Minister was briefed over CTTI and its branches in AJ&K and other provinces also attended the meeting.
He said that the Koeka has expressed willingness to establish a new Institute named Information Communication Technology Centre, in collaboration with CTTI and Koeka, is ready to provide an aid of $5 million in this regard. Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan welcomed the offer and said that the proposed project would provide quality technical education and hence create employment opportunities for our youth.
He said that the people are being faced enormous difficulties due to growing traffic mess near railway crossing at Takhte Bhai N-45. However, he said there is a need to construct a flyover on urgent basis. The said flyover will cost 5 billion rupees and as soon as the NOC is obtained from railway authorities, construction work will start. Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan on this occasion expressed the government's resolve to continue a speedy development process in the country so that the nation can reap its benefits.
The Federal Secretary Communications Anwar Ahmad Khan suggested that there is a need to upgrade the existing branch of CCTI in Islamabad by setting up branches in rest of the country in order to facilitate maximum students. He further said that technically trained teaching faculty is easily available. On the occasion, a detailed briefing given to the Federal Minister over the construction work of the flyover at the railway crossing near Takht Bhai at N-45.
