Guwar prices soar due to slow demand on grain market

Prices moved both ways on the wholesale grain market on Tuesday as guwar went up sharply and rice fell on slow demand, dealers said. On the cereal side, guwar from Sindh was higher by Rs 500 to Rs 6700-6800 and Guwar Punjab followed the same track at the same prices. Other items did not move any side in process of trading, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sidh low type was down by Rs 275 to Rs 3575 and good type was lower by Rs 250 to Rs 3650, they said. On the seeds side, castorseeds Lasbela low type was unchanged at Rs 2400 and the best type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2500 and castorseeds Sindh was registered at Rs 2300-2400, cakes slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 830-840 and cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type fell by Rs 60 to Rs 1180 and best type was down by Rs 90 to Rs 1200, other items retained the overnight levels during the day, they added.
