Chairman Intellectual Property Organisation Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi MNA has said IPO-Pakistan is being structured on strong footings to make it a role model.
He said lawyers are the key stakeholder of IPO who are in a better position to promote its functioning and play their role for creating awareness among the masses for registration of their intellectual rights. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Intellectual Property Rights Association (PIPRA), according to a press release here on Sunday.
The Director General IPO-Pakistan Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta, Executive Director Umer Dad, other IPO officers, Meesaq Arif, Inam ul Haq and Dr Muhammad Khurram were also present.
The office-bearers of (PIPRA) Khawaja Mansoor, Javed Safdar Tanwiri, Karimullah Adeni along with other members highlighted various issues pertaining to registries and improvement of their working. They pointed out necessary measures to further streamline the process of registration and assured their assistance and co-operation in this regard.
Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi exchange views about legal issues and asked lawyers to give their input so that the proposed ordinance of IPO could be made more effective.
He lauded the contributions of lawyer's community for taking keen interest in strengthening IPO and added working relationships and mutual co-operation would be further enhanced with the objective to provide better facilities to the clients.
Director General IPO-Pakistan Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta reiterated that quality of services at all the offices of IPO would be improved by conducing capacity building programmes and in-house training sessions.
Similarly, the concerned segments of society would also be associated through various activities to aware the people about protection of their intellectual rights.
