Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always obeyed the orders and decisions of the honourable courts; its leadership has great reverence and regard for the judiciary.
The Governor averred that all allegations levelled against the leadership of the PPP in the case of SGS Cotecna reference cases have proved baseless.
While addressing a press conference here on Sunday at Governor House he said that it had been written in the decision of the court clearly that Rs 58 billion had been deposited in the national exchequer.
He said due to the false allegations late Benazir Bhutto had to leave the country and president himself had to face the ordeal of remaining in the jail for a very long period.
The Governor stated that those who levelled false allegations should pay for their falsification and putting into agony and anguish innocent persons. He implored upon to make amendments into law for repetition of false allegations.
He said now this case that had been decided after 14 years had left scars at national and international level for the country as well as innocent people involved in it.
Governor dilated that efforts should be focused on issues of the masses and removal of them instead on levelling false allegations.
Latif added that increased efforts be made on solving difficult, tedious problems like lack of energy and power, terrorism, gas and unemployment.
He said that their leadership wanted to smooth line things and strengthen the nation and the democratic process and asked all to join their hands into it.
