Ramazan-ul-Mubarak message: President urges nation to create unity among ranks

President Asif Ali Zardari has urged the nation to create unity among their ranks and not let extremism and sectarianism thrive, which is a source of mutual conflict and discord. The President in his message to nation at the start of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak (1432 Hijri/2011) said.
"On the advent of this holy month, all of us have to pledge that, by always keeping before us the training of Roza (fasting), we will eliminate terrorism, sectarian conflicts and religious extremism from our lives." It would create unity, accord and discipline in our ranks "and will not let sectarianism and extremism - which is a source of mutual conflict and discord - to thrive," he added.
The President extended heartiest congratulations to all Pakistanis and the expatriate Pakistanis as well as all the Muslims and thanked Allah Almighty, "Who once again provided us with the opportunity to welcome this month of blessings and hoped that all the countrymen will benefit from the blessings and sanctifications of this sacred month."
"This sacred month enlightens us with the teachings of love, brotherhood, affection, closeness and tolerance. We are fortunate to get the opportunity of acting upon the lofty and golden principles of this month and I hope that being the Muslims, all of us will follow all these fundamentals," he added.
The President said, "the month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak brings with it countless blessings and bounties and a Muslim, during this holy month, restrains his/her self in an unprecedented manner." "He or she wholeheartedly strives to fulfil the edict of Allah in every act of eating, drinking, seeing, hearing or talking. And every Muslim is obliged to bow before every edict of Allah and act upon them wholly", he added. The President said the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak is the month of self-accountability, self-review and self-correction.
