Government College University: computer sciences department directed to acquire digital scanners

Government College University (GCU) Lahore Professor Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman has ordered to computerise the marking of entry tests being conducted by the university departments for admissions into the graduate and postgraduate programmes. The Vice Chancellor issued these directions during his visit to the examination centers set up for admissions to the GCU Bachelor in Computer Sciences (BCS) programme.
GCU Computers Sciences Department Chairperson Dr Muhammad Saleem Khan was also present on the occasion. He told the Vice Chancellor that as many as 1,515 candidates have appeared in the BCS entry test this year. The Vice Chancellor directed the Computer Sciences Department to immediately acquire the digital scanners and other required equipment to computerise the marking of entry tests. He also guided his colleagues about the procedure and advantages of computerised evaluation system. "It is faster, objective and transparent and it reinforces the confidence of the candidates in the admission procedure," he added.
The Vice Chancellor met with candidates and discussed in detail their future prospects. Professor Khaleeq appreciated the arrangements made by the administration to facilitate the candidates and their guardians. Candidates also expressed satisfaction at the quality of arrangements.
