Prices drift downward on grain market

Prices drifted lower on the grain market on Monday as Ramazan would start from Tuesday, dealers said. On the cereal side juwar low variety did not show any change at Rs 2100 while the best quality was down by Rs 50 to Rs 2150, gur prices were down by Rs 100 to Rs 6800-8400 as part of Ramazan Package, other items were unchanged in process of trading, they said.
On the grams side, grams Australia low type shed Rs 350 to Rs 2700 while the best type retained the overnight level, gram dal Australia, however, lost Rs 100 to s 6100-6300, grams 50x50 low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 5400 and best type was down by Rs 200 to Rs 5500, they added.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type lost Rs 125 to Rs 3575 and best type shed Rs 50 to Rs 3750, other items were unmoved in slow trading, they said. On the seed side, rapeseeds cakes were lower by Rs 20 to Rs 810-820 and cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1050 and good type was up by Rs 90 to Rs 1190, they said.
