Altaf asks people to stock one-month's ration

03 Aug, 2011

MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain said late Tuesday that the government and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have failed to perform their duties with regard to maintenance of law and order in Karachi. Altaf asked citizens of Karachi to buy necessary food items for one-month storage owing to ensuing law and order situation where the people will be forced to fight for themselves against unlawful elements.
"If you have to sell out your valuables, sell them," Altaf said. Altaf said people were leading unprivileged lives. He said innocent people are being killed despite presence of police and Rangers. He said no action has been taken against target killers despite passage of 24 hours of my 48-hour ultimatum given to the government. He said that enough is enough... "we had burned our boats in 1947 and this time around are ready to sacrifice our lives too."
