Police arrest proclaimed offender

Islamabad Police have arrested a proclaimed offender involved in a double murder in the area of Nilore and later dumping the bodies in Swan River, a police spokesman said. Responding to a tipoff about the hideout of Iftikhar Hussain alias Kharo son of Mushtaq Hussain proclaimed offender, SHO Nilore Tanveer Abbassi led a special team, which raided the house and arrested the proclaimed offender wanted to police in two murder cases.
The PO had killed Zulfiqar Ali and Qamar Iqbal in August 2010 over some enmity and later escaped. Police had been hunting him for the last one-year and at last succeeded in arresting this notorious criminal as well as recovered 30 bore pistol from him. Koral Police arrested an accused Muhammad Aslam resident of Tobetek Singh who snatched a Toyota Hiace bearing registration No RIR-5363 from Sarfaraz Khan after intoxicating him.
Shalimar Police arrested a woman Nur Bibi and recovered stolen items including three mobiles and Rs 5,000 from her which she stole from the house of Sadia Khalil resident of sector F-7/3. A thief Tarseem was also arrested by them in possession of stolen mobile phone. Sihala police also arrested a person Muhammad Ifran and recovered 30 bore pistol from his possession.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan have appreciated this performance and announced special prizes for team who arrested proclaimed offender, directing the officials to intensify vigilance against anti-social elements.
