Court orders: CJ LHC takes serious note of police attitude

04 Aug, 2011

The Chief Justice Lahore High Court taking serious note of police attitude towards the court orders observed police had not any courage to ignore the orders of a magistrate but now they did not take the court orders serious. The court directed DIG Amir Malik to submit his report on August 15 as to why police arrested a person Javed Sadiq after the court allowed him bail.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by wife of Javed who approached the court against the police for arresting her husband after he secured his bail from the LHC. She contended police violated the court orders and prayed for the contempt of court proceedings against the police officials for violating the court orders. The IGP contended before the court that a committee headed by DIG Amir Malik has been constituted to look into the matter. The Chief Justice directed the DIG to submit his report by August 15 and rose for the day.
