PDF welcomes increase in salaries of doctors

Peoples' Doctor Forum (PDF) on Friday welcomed increase in doctors' salaries and expressed the hope that the government's steps will help improve health care system in the province. Speaking at a news conference, provincial president, PDF Qaiser Ali said that the government had taken steps for provision of better health care system in the country.
He informed that in 1995, the government had inducted jobless doctors in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa keeping in view shortage of doctors, especially in far-flung areas of the province. Flanked by doctors and office bearers, he observed that the country is passing through a critical time due to which unemployment has increased rapidly in the country. He said that it was quite difficult for the government to create maximum job opportunities.
Despite the economic constraints, he said that the government was going to induct 500 doctors and 30 dental surgeons on contractual basis for provision of health services. He added that the provincial government had already moved a summary to Public Service Commission (PSC) in this regard. He said that the government plans to recruit specialist doctors' at different hospitals. The PDF extended special gratitude to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Minister for Health, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, and officials of health department for acceptance of their longstanding demand.
